About

We only do OJS — Open Journal Systems, the open-source platform thousands of academic journals and university presses run on. Not a generalist web agency that also builds journal sites: a practice that spends its whole day inside OJS itself — its versions, its theme API, its plugin ecosystem, its migration quirks.

That narrow focus is the point. Editors get a partner who already knows what breaks between OJS 2 and 3, what a Crossref DOI integration actually requires, and what an accessible, mobile-ready journal theme looks like — without a discovery phase spent explaining what OJS is.

What we do

Four services, all scoped to OJS.

OJS 3.x

Installation & Setup

Clean, production-ready OJS installs configured to your journal’s editorial workflow, hosting and email from day one.

  • Server & OJS install, hardened for production
  • Editorial roles & workflow configuration
  • SMTP, DOI prefix and backup setup
2.x → 3.5 LTS

Migration & Upgrades

Move a journal off an unsupported install without losing submissions, users or archive history.

  • Full content & metadata migration
  • Zero-downtime cutover plan
  • Post-upgrade QA against your archive
Theme API

Custom Theme Development

A journal-specific theme built on the OJS 3 theme API — not a generic template with your logo dropped in.

  • Smarty / Bootstrap theme build
  • Mobile & accessibility pass
  • Editorial preview before launch
Crossref · DataCite · ORCID

Plugins & Integrations

Custom plugins and third-party integrations wired into your editorial and publishing pipeline.

  • Crossref / DataCite DOI registration
  • ORCID author verification
  • Custom plugin development

v2025.06

Custom Theme + SEO

Shipped

Theme build + on-page SEO

Designed a journal-specific theme on the OJS 3 theme API with SEO fundamentals built in from the start — metadata, structured content, and full Google Scholar indexing, achieved independently of Crossref DOI registration, which this journal hasn’t set up yet.

Now ranking on page one for several of the journal’s core research keywords, with full Google Scholar coverage.
